PIA partially reestablishing international flights halfway from 2 April

Islamabad- Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) has announced to reestablish international flights operation from April 2. It was grounded on 21 March to stop the expansion of contagious coronavirus infection.

Two release charter flights traveling to Canada and passengers have to follow few strict instructions of wearing masks, gloves and sit at distance. Other flights will stay suspended. People coming from different countries will be kept in quarantine.

On Tuesday, the Foreign Office and National Security Committee (NSC) gave the gesture to the PIA partially reestablishing international flight activities. The NSC will give its proper endorsement to proceed onward Wednesday (today).

Carrying 400 passengers these two charter flights will leave from the International Airport Islamabad to Toronto, Canada. The Canadian High Commission staff its and officers will also be part of the flight. 

Only those people will receive their tickets who are allowed by The Embassy of Canada in Pakistan. Therefore, It will be the PIA’s first commercial flight of leaving for Toronto on 3 April.

The officials are thinking about running three business flights from April 4 to the UK after the fruition of the fundamental defensive measures.

The travelers originating from abroad will get COVID-19 screening and will be isolate. They will be required to wear covers and gloves all through their travel.

Flight administrations won’t be accessible during the flight. Also, the travelers will be tried for internal heat levels preceding boarding only.
