ISLAMABAD: PM Khaqan Abbasi and Punjab CM Shehbaz Sharif met up with PML-N supreme leader Nawaz Sharif at Punjab House.
Sources have disclosed that the agenda of the meetings were the current political and security situations of the country.
The meeting has come just days after the PML-N supreme leader, Nawaz Sharif’s controversial statement. The statement had alleged Pakistan’s involvement in the 2008 Mumbai attacks.
Nawaz Sharif said: “Militant organisations are active. Call them non-state actors, should we allow them to cross the border and kill 150 people in Mumbai? Explain it to me. Why can’t we complete the trial?”
After which a National Security Committee had held a meeting to discuss the statement and Pakistan’s stance on it. The May 14 meeting had unanimously condemned the statement by Former Prime Minister and denied any involvement in the terror attacks.
PM Abbasi also met Nawaz later that day and deliberated upon the former premier’s statement regarding Mumbai attacks.
The Shehbaz-led Pakistan Muslim League-N had also said the statement to be against policies of the party. Nawaz Sharif, however; continued to stand up for his statement.
