PMD Predicts Heatwave, Temperature May Rise to 45 Degrees in Karachi


KARACHI: Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has predicted the weather may rise to a blistering 45 Celsius on Tuesday, as another Heatwave is predicted.

Karachi had just braved a heatwave last week, with temperature hovering around 44 Celsius constantly for day or two. But it seems relief is not the fate for Karachites as Met department has predicted the temperature today to rise to 45 Celsius.

Karachi is to face another fierce battle with the heat as of today. The sea breeze is expected to halt again causing a significant increase in temperature. The temperature will be between 40 to 45 Celsius for the next two days.

With Ramadan ongoing, people are being told to stay indoors as much as possible. Avoid going out into the sun as much as possible. People are being told to postpone their day time chores to evening. If that is not possible then use a wet towel or handkerchief to cover your head and neck. Avoid direct exposure of sun to your head.

People should also stay hydrated to avoid heatstroke, on sign of symptoms immediately take precautionary measures.
