Pakistan Peoples Party or PPP will oppose the possible military courts extension at all forums.
Military courts extension will be opposed by PPP as discussed in the party meeting on Friday (yesterday). The former Prime Minister and senior party leader Yousaf Raza Gilani revealed that they have decided in the meeting to oppose the military courts extension.
Yousaf Raza Gilani further added that the South Punjab province does not need the charity of the limited autonomy but its own province. He said that they won’t compromise on the 18th Amendment, for which they had conferred with all political parties and taken their input. However, the meeting was chaired by PPP chairman and co-chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari and Asif Ali Zardari respectively.
Military courts a need for Pakistan and not Army’s wish, DG ISPR
The director-general of the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), Major General Asif Ghafoor revealed that military courts are not the Pakistan Army’s wish but the need of Pakistan.
He said that the military courts extension was for 2 years and it will further continue if the Parliament supports the extension. DG ISPR revealed that military courts created the fear among terrorists.
