Presidential Elections Scheduled to be Held in August

The Presidential Elections will be held in Pakistan in the third week of August.

Current President Mamnoon Hussain’s constitutional terms comes to end on September 8.

Pakistan Elections 2018 is due on 25 July, to elect the new parliament, National Assembly, and head of government i.e. Prime Minister. The newly elected lawmakers will elect the new President of Pakistan.


According to the constitutional laws, the Presidential elections should be conducted between July 8 and August 8.

President Mamnoon Hussain is currently serving as the 12th elected President of Pakistan. He was elected on July 30, 2013. President Mamnoon Hussain is a 73-year-old textile businessman from Karachi. He was then sworn in on Sept 9 at the President house after it was vacated by the former president Asif Ali Zardari.

President Mamnoon Hussain has been an active member of the PML-N since the 1960s. He has also served as the governor of Sindh from June to October 1999 when Nawaz Sharif’s government was overthrown by the then army chief General Pervez Musharraf.
