In the aftermath of contentious election results, widespread protests have erupted across various cities in Pakistan, including Sindh, Balochistan, and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
Balochistan Grinds to a Halt:
For the fifth consecutive day, Balochistan is experiencing disruptions as protestors have blocked over 20 locations on key inter-provincial highways. The strategic roads connecting Balochistan to Punjab, Sindh, KPK, Afghanistan, and Iran are impassable. In addition, train services along the Quetta section have been severely affected.
A spectrum of cities in Balochistan, including Quetta, Chaman, Ziarat, Gwadar, Qilaat, Nasirabad, and Nushki, witnessed demonstrations. Simultaneously, in Sindh, protests unfolded in Sukkur, Hyderabad, Kundh Kot, and Naushehro Feroze.
North Waziristan’s Road Blockades:
In North Waziristan, Miranshah, Hamzoni, and Darpakhel experienced road blockades for the fourth consecutive day as part of the ongoing protests.
Political Parties Unite:
Prominent political parties such as the People’s Party, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf, ANP, JUI-F, Jamaat-e-Islami, BNP, Hazara Democratic Party, Pashtun Tahafuz Movement, and National Party have joined forces to express their grievances against alleged electoral irregularities.
