In a recent development, the Pakistan Telecommunication Company Limited (PTCL) has officially declared a tariff hike for both its landline and broadband services, set to take effect from January 1, 2024.
PTCL customers nationwide were informed of the impending increase through messages distributed on Friday. The communication highlighted a revision in the monthly rates by over 10%.
Sources within PTCL have disclosed that the decision to raise tariffs is a direct response to the escalating business costs faced by the telecommunications giant. With the aim of maintaining service quality and meeting operational demands, PTCL has deemed it necessary to adjust the pricing structure for its services.
As part of the tariff revision, both landline customers and broadband subscribers will experience an increase in their monthly bills. The broadband rate adjustments for Digital Subscriber Line (DSL) connections are as follows:
- 6 Mbps: Rs2,050
- 10 Mbps: Rs2,400
- 20 Mbps: Rs2,650
- 30 Mbps: Rs3,020
- 50 Mbps: Rs5,100
- 100 Mbps: Rs8,800
The tariff hike will impact PTCL customers across the board, reflecting an adjustment to the cost of their landline and broadband services.
As the new rates take effect in the coming year, PTCL users advised to review their billing statements. The telecommunications landscape in Pakistan continues to evolve, and customers may need to stay informed about industry developments that could influence their connectivity expenses.
