The PTI-led government has announced another surge in petrol prices in Pakistan. Petrol price increased by Rs 10.49 per liter and high speed diesel by Rs 12.44 per liter
The increment in prices announced by the government a day after the increase in electricity tariff by Rs 1.39 per unit.
The notification issued by the Finance Ministry inform, the price of kerosene has gone up by Rs 10.95 per liter. Meanwhile light speed diesel has gone up by Rs 8.84 per liter.
Oil prices are currently at $85 a barrel, the highest since October 2018.
As per notification, the entire energy chain has seen a sharp rise in prices. It happens due to high demand for energy spots and supply disruptions.
The government has provided maximum relief to consumers by keeping petroleum sales tax to a minimum, Said Minister.
The new petrol prices in Pakistan will be applicable from October 16 (today).
