PTI government will conduct audit of power plants set-up by PML-N

Information Minister Fawad Chaudhry revealed that the federal government decided to start the audit of power plants that are established by Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N).

The government will conduct the audit of power plants set-up by former ruling party PML-N. PTI leader and information minister Fawad Chaudhry said that government of PML-N signed agreements to generate electricity at high prices.

Fawad said that the Quaid-e-Azam solar plant is the most expensive power plant in the world. However, National Accountability Bureau (NAB) also started the inquiry against the LNG plants in Punjab.


Fawad said that the government decided to carry out the audit of power plants that are present in Pakistan. He further added that they have already started the audit of 2 power plants.

The information minister said that in last 2 years, PML-N increased electricity prices by Rs 15.53 per unit. However, the generated electricity at that cost sold for Rs 11.71 per unit.
