Sources say army personnel are now regularly patrolling D-Chowk and even the Red Zone, keeping a close eye on things to maintain law and order. This move comes straight after orders from the Ministry of Interior, which directed the army to take control under Article 245 of the Constitution. This allows the army to assist civil authorities to keep things under control, especially when the city is hosting such high-profile events like the SCO meeting.
The deployment isn’t just for a day or two though. According to official reports, the army will be stationed in the capital from October 5 to October 17.
