A public holiday has been declared for tomorrow, December 5, in the Sheikhupura district of Punjab, in connection with the by-election for the Punjab Assembly constituency PP-139 Ferozewala. The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has scheduled the by-election to fill the seat that was left vacant following the death of Rana Afzal Hussain.

Shahid Imran Marth, the Deputy Commissioner of Sheikhupura, has been appointed as the District Returning Officer for the by-election, with Usman Jalees, Additional Deputy Commissioner (Revenue), serving as the Returning Officer.
