Public Holiday on 27th December, 2025: Official Notification Issued!

The Sindh government has announced a province-wide public holiday on Saturday, December 27, 2025, to mark the martyrdom anniversary of former Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto. All government and semi government offices will be closed throughout Sindh through an official notification.

27 December Holiday Declared Across Sindh

Sindh government has already announced that it is a holiday on the 27th of December 2025 which is a Saturday. This was announced by a notification of the Chief Secretary of Sindh.

This 27 December holiday will be observed across the province. All government and semi-government offices will remain closed. The decision follows the annual practice of observing Benazir Bhutto’s martyrdom day.

Benazir Bhutto, former Prime Minister and Chairperson of the Pakistan Peoples Party, was assassinated on December 27, 2007. She was targeted after addressing a public rally in Rawalpindi. Each year, Sindh observes this day with a public holiday. The provincial government continues this tradition to honor her memory and legacy.

According to the official statement issued from Karachi, the holiday will apply to the entire province without exception. Offices, departments, and institutions under the provincial government will stay closed for the day.

This confirmation removes confusion for employees, students, and businesses that depend on government operations.
