Punjab Chowrangi Underpass Partially Reopens for Traffic After Water Line Burst

Late last night, a major water line burst at the Clifton Punjab Chowrangi underpass following a collision with a heavy trailer. This incident led to the immediate closure of the underpass to all traffic and disrupted water supply to surrounding areas.

In response to the emergency, the CEO of the Water Corporation, Engineer Syed Salahuddin, took swift action. Superintendent Engineer WTM Tanveer Sheikh, Executive Engineer Clifton Water Rehan Jaffery, and their team promptly arrived at the site to assess the damage and coordinate repairs.

The Water Corporation’s spokesperson confirmed that the accumulated water in the underpass has been drained and the area cleaned. However, only one track of the underpass has been reopened for traffic, allowing partial resumption of flow while repairs continue.

The spokesperson assured the public that the repair work on the damaged water line is being prioritized and will be completed on an emergency basis to restore full service.
