In a remarkable fulfillment of yet another promise, Punjab CM Mohsin Naqvi has swiftly delivered on his commitment by introducing a 24/7 ‘Langar’ (free food) facility at the iconic Data Darbar complex within an impressive 48 hours. The initiative, spearheaded by the Auqaf Department in collaboration with the Madina Foundation, is set to cater to the continuous influx of devotees, ensuring that they, along with the homeless, have uninterrupted access to nourishing meals.
Auqaf’s Secretary, along with Mian Rasheed from the Madina Foundation, shared details of the initiative with the media, emphasizing its significance in providing round-the-clock sustenance to those in need. During a meeting at his office, CM Naqvi underscored the importance of cleanliness and the enhancement of the area’s aesthetic appeal around Data Darbar.
The meeting also discussed the upgrading of nine shrines dedicated to Sufi saints, including Hazrat Jalaluddin Bukhari in Uch Sharif, Baba Bulleh Shah in Kasur, Hazrat Musa Pak in Multan, and Shah Shams Tabraiz. Notably, the expansion of verandas around Data Darbar was highlighted, indicating a capacity increase from 3,000 to 5,000. This enhancement aims to provide a more accommodating and enriching experience for the multitude of visitors.
