Punjab CNG Stations Reopen as Gas Supply Resumes!

In a significant development, the Sui Northern Gas Pipelines (SNGPL) has announced the restoration of gas supplies to CNG stations across Punjab. This move comes as a breath of fresh air for the CNG sector, prompting enthusiasm and optimism for its revival.

The CNG Association, a key player in the sector, warmly welcomed the news of the gas revival. Expressing his satisfaction, the CNG Association Chairman, Ghiyas Pracha, highlighted the importance of this decision for the 3,000 CNG stations operating in Punjab.

Pracha emphasized that, in Punjab alone, a staggering 37 lakh vehicles relied on CNG as their primary fuel source. Despite this substantial market, the business of the CNG sector had been stagnating at a mere 10 percent. He further urged authorities to identify those responsible for the industry’s decline, holding them accountable for the challenges faced by the sector.

This positive development not only marks the reinstatement of gas supplies but also opens doors for the renovation of CNG stations. The CNG Association has invited applications for station renovation, signaling a potential transformation in the infrastructure and services offered by these stations.
