The Punjab government has extended the ‘Maryam Ki Dastak’ programme to 32 districts of the province, ensuring wider accessibility to its citizen-focused services. The announcement was made on Monday under the directives of Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz, aiming to revolutionize public service delivery.
10 New Districts Added
The programme, initially operational in major districts like Lahore, Rawalpindi, Faisalabad, Multan, and Sargodha, now includes 10 new districts:
- Rahim Yar Khan
- Vehari
- Lodhran
- Toba Tek Singh
- Layyah
- Rajanpur
- Nankana Sahib
- Chiniot
- Gujrat
- Khushab
This expansion highlights the Punjab government’s commitment to providing accessible and efficient services to its citizens.
Over 65 Services at Doorsteps
‘Maryam Ki Dastak’ offers over 65 government services, enabling citizens to avail themselves of these facilities directly at their doorsteps. The initiative significantly benefits women, the elderly, and working professionals by reducing the need to visit government offices.
Punjab Information Technology Board (PITB) Chairman Faisal Yousaf emphasized that the programme is designed to deliver technology-driven public services transparently and efficiently. Citizens can also access services via the helpline at 1202.
CM Maryam Nawaz’s Vision
Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz, while overseeing the programme, aims to ensure transparency and convenience in public services across the province. This is part of her broader agenda to promote citizen-friendly governance through technology.
Kisan Card Programme for Farmers
Earlier, on October 28, CM Maryam Nawaz launched the Kisan Card Programme in Hafizabad to support small farmers financially. Key features of the programme include:
- Loans of up to Rs 150,000 per crop season for seeds, fertilizers, and pesticides.
- An increase in the number of Kisan Cards from 500,000 to 750,000.
- Free tractors for farmers with over 25 acres of land.
- Agricultural equipment rental at no profit for small-scale farmers.
Speaking at the event, CM Maryam Nawaz reiterated her commitment to empowering farmers and enhancing agricultural productivity.
