Punjab Floods: Pakistan Latest Flood Update Issued by FFC

The Federal Flood Commission (FFC) has come out with a flood update, and this confirms that major rivers are experiencing exceptional high and medium floods in Punjab and other regions of the country. The report indicated that River Ravi, Chenab, Sutlej, and Indus are experiencing high flood pressure and with varied patterns.

Lahore Flood Situation

The Lahore flood situation remains critical as River Ravi at Shahdara has reached exceptionally high levels and continues to rise. At Balloki, water levels expected to attain exceptional high flood conditions within the next 24 hours. Authorities are closely watching the Punjab floods Pakistan to manage water flow and ensure protection measures in low-lying areas of Lahore.

Flood Situation Near Sutlej River

The flood situation near Sutlej River is steady but remains in the exceptional high flood category at Ganda Singh Wala, while Suleimanki is in medium flood. Due to water releases from Indian dams, downstream areas face continued pressure. Chiniot and other areas of central Punjab covered by the current Pakistan Punjab floods and require relief and monitoring.

River Chenab is in medium flood at Marala with a falling trend, while Khanki and Qadirabad are experiencing exceptional high floods. Live storage capacity is 11.740 MAF or 88.16% of total capacity, combining Tarbela, Mangla and Chashma. Maryam Nawaz supposed to visit the Punjab floods situation, particularly in Lahore and the regions close to Sutlej and Chenab, as the provincial leadership. The Pakistan government is putting together relief efforts and keep a check on the Pakistan Punjab floods to avoid the destruction of additional damage.
