In a landmark initiative, Punjab’s Minister of Transport, Bilal Akbar Khan, announced that the provincial government is set to distribute e-bikes to approximately 800,000 students. Nearly 800,000 students have applied for Punjab’s e-bike program, and all will receive e-bikes following the Chief Minister’s directive. Various schemes have been launched to assist the underprivileged, as per the Chief Minister’s instructions. The initiative is expected to significantly empower female students, with hopes that they will be warmly welcomed when they take to the streets on their new e-bikes.
Bilal Akbar emphasized that the advancement of women through this initiative will contribute to the country’s economic development. Efforts are underway to upgrade all stations in Lahore to support this new wave of e-bike usage.
