Punjab’s government has launched an ambitious housing project, ‘Apni Chat, Apna Ghar’, aiming to provide affordable homes to its citizens. This initiative targets the construction of 100,000 apartments across six major cities, with a unique payment plan of monthly installments of Rs 26,000.
The total cost of each apartment is a mere Rs 1.5 million, making it an affordable option for many. The scheme is set to kick off in Lahore, Rawalpindi, Faisalabad, Sialkot, Multan, and Sargodha, offering a wide geographical reach.
The Social Protection Authority has been tasked with formulating the rules and regulations for this scheme, ensuring a smooth and fair process for prospective homeowners. In a bid to stimulate construction, the Punjab government is offering a substantial 60% subsidy, allowing homeowners to purchase apartments by paying just 40% of the total cost in instalments.
The initial phase of the project will see the construction of 5,000 apartments on Raiwind Road in Lahore, marking the beginning of this transformative housing scheme. This initiative is a testament to Punjab’s commitment to providing affordable and quality housing to its citizens, paving the way for a brighter and more secure future.
