In light of the upcoming holy month of Ramazan in 2024, the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) has unveiled a revised schedule for its operations. This change will also apply to all banks, development financial institutions, and microfinance banks across the country.
The SBP will operate from 9:00 AM to 3:30 PM, with a half-hour break for prayers from 2:00 PM to 2:30 PM, from Monday to Thursday during Ramazan. On Fridays, the bank will be open from 8:30 AM to 1:00 PM without any break.
In addition to the SBP, all other financial institutions are expected to adhere to this schedule. Furthermore, the SBP has recommended that all banks and microfinance banks maintain minimum business banking hours for public transactions from 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM without interruption from Monday to Thursday. On Fridays, the suggested hours are from 8:30 AM to 1:00 PM without any break.
Once the month of Ramazan concludes, the SBP and other financial institutions will revert to their regular pre-Ramazan schedules. The commencement of Ramazan is anticipated to be either March 12 or 13, depending on the sighting of the moon.
