KARACHI: Rao Anwar claims that he will be proven innocent in the Naqeebullah Murder case ongoing in Anti-Terrorist Court.
Former SSP Malir, Rao Anwar, who is booked in Naqeebullah Murder case, says he will be proven innocent in courts.
Naqeebullah Masud was a shopkeeper and an aspiring model who belonged to the Tribal Areas of Pakistan. He was killed in what is deemed to be a fake encounter alongside 3 others.
He and the three others were also planted with grenades and weapons to falsely show they were terrorists.
Anwar spoke to media outside the Anti-terrorist Court where he appeared for the hearing of the case. He told media he was wrongfully indicted in the case and there isn’t any evidence connecting him to the case.
He told the media that facts and figures were misreported, the number that the Joint Investigation Team reported was not his. Anwar added that the records of that incorrect number show that he was in Karachi on March 21. He said that on that date he was in Islamabad for a Supreme Court hearing.
Lawyers of Naqeebullah Mehsud’s father, failed to appear in ATC today after which the court adjourned till July 4. The court also gave the lawyers last chance to present their final arguments in the case.
