Karachi: The body of the minor was recovered last night near the The area falls of Manghopir. The child lived in Orangi Town’s Baloch Goth. She went missing on April 15.
The police had confirmed that the child’s body had torture marks or wounds. The post-mortem at forensic lab of hospital confirmed that she was raped and tortured. According to MLO Dr Rubina, there were scars of cigarette burns on her skin as well. The samples taken from her body had confirmed it that she was sexually abused and then strangulated afterwards, causing her to suffocate to death.
The residents of Orangi Town in reaction to this staged a protest against the rape and murder of a six-year-old girl near Kati Pahari. The family of the minor had protested demanding for justice while protestors had scuffles with the police which was there to quell the situation.
Upon failure to control the situation they fired aerial shots, tear gas shells and baton-charged the protesters. Two people were injured in these, one of which died after being shifted to the hospital. The situation was contained later after Rangers had arrived on scene.
Police and Rangers officials were present during the burial of the little girl, ensuring justice to the demanding parents. They added that political parties used the family to ensue unrest, while PTI has claimed that police opened straight fire at the peaceful protestors. PTI leadership of the area claimed that the person who died in the result of the firing was a PTI member and that the protest was peaceful. On the other hand 10 police officials were injured by stone pelting of the “peaceful protestors”.
