Rawalpindi Modern Bus Service with Integrated Public Transport System to be Introduced

In a significant development, the Punjab Mass Transit Authority is gearing up to launch a cutting-edge integrated public transport system in Rawalpindi, introducing 78 minibusses with an 8-meter length in two phases. The maiden phase slated to cover 34 routes within the city.

Mirroring the well-established Metro Bus Service, the upcoming bus service will adhere to similar timings and fare structures. Notably, the minibusses for this initiative will sourced from China and other international markets, creating a robust and efficient public transportation network.

Secretary of the Regional Transport Authority (RTA), Arshad Ali, highlighted that these minibusses will seamlessly connected to metro stations, serving as feeder buses to enhance overall transit connectivity. The project’s first phase is expect to kick off in the coming days, marking a significant leap forward in Rawalpindi’s transportation infrastructure.

In addition to the exciting developments, Arshad Ali shared crucial information about a route adjustment in the Rawalpindi Integrated Transport System. The buses will now travel from Kachehri Chowk to Rawat vegetable and fruit market, providing improved accessibility for commuters.

For those eager to explore the newly established Rawalpindi Integrated Transport System (Phase 1), the Punjab Mass Transit Authority’s website offers detailed information on the designated routes. As the city embraces this modernized public transport initiative, residents can anticipate enhanced convenience and efficiency in their daily commute.
