Rawalpindi Ring Road Project: A Transformative Game Changer for Regional Development

In a significant development, Rawalpindi Division Commissioner Liaquat Ali Chattha highlighted the pivotal role of the ongoing Rawalpindi Ring Road project, emphasizing its transformative impact on regional development. Speaking on Sunday, Commissioner Chattha provided updates on the project’s progress, underlining its paramount importance for the people residing in Rawalpindi and its surrounding areas.

Commissioner Chattha revealed that construction activities are in full swing, with the allocated land handed over to the contractor for seamless execution. Caretaker Punjab Chief Minister Mohsin Naqvi, displaying a proactive stance, conducted three visits in the last 25 days to oversee the project’s advancements and inspect groundwork.

Expressing urgency, Chief Minister Naqvi directed relevant authorities to expedite the construction pace, ensuring dedicated efforts for the project’s swift completion. During an aerial inspection covering the entire 38-kilometre route, the Chief Minister closely monitored the ongoing work, emphasizing the project’s strategic significance.

Chattha reported that construction has commenced on the Banth and Chak Beli interchanges of the Ring Road. The six-lane Rawalpindi Ring Road, equipped with heavy machinery, is progressing with the construction of vital components such as subways, drainage channels, and various road sections.

Highlighting the project’s wider impact, Commissioner Chattha announced plans for an industrial zone in the surrounding area of Rawalpindi Ring Road. The road will feature five crucial interchanges at Banth, Chak Beli Khan, Adiala Road, Chakri Road, and Thalian. Additionally, a railway bridge, complemented by five overpasses and 21 subways, will enhance connectivity and accessibility.

The completion of Rawalpindi Ring Road is poised to bring immense convenience to the citizens of Rawalpindi and Islamabad. Acting on the Chief Minister’s directives, NESPAK has provided essential drawings related to the project, facilitating its seamless execution.
