Reduce Your Electricity Bills with Affordable Solar Panels Price in Pakistan

Pakistanis are rapidly embracing solar power systems due to a compelling combination of factors. With electricity bills skyrocketing (averaging over Rs. 70 per unit!), and solar panel prices experiencing a significant drop, domestic, agricultural, commercial, and industrial users are seriously considering the switch.

Reasons of Solar Power Demand in Pakistan

  • Rising Electricity Costs: Following an agreement with the IMF, the full burden of electricity generation costs now falls on consumers, leading to a substantial increase in per-unit charges.
  • Falling Solar Panel Prices: A global increase in solar panel supply, largely driven by China, has resulted in a dramatic decrease in panel costs.

How Much Does it Cost to Install Solar Panels in Pakistan

  • 1.5 kW System: A system ideal for powering essential appliances like four fans, a TV, a refrigerator, and eight LED lights, now costs approximately Rs. 155,000, compared to Rs. 200,000 last year.
    • Solar panels (2 x 580 watts) have seen the most significant price reduction, dropping from Rs. 109,000 to Rs. 48,000.
    • However, battery costs have risen due to scarcity, with a 185-ampere battery now costing Rs. 43,000 (up Rs. 8,000).
    • Inverter prices have also increased by Rs. 10,000, reaching Rs. 45,000.
    • Wiring and labor add an additional Rs. 20,000 to the total cost.

According to NEPRA, a significant portion (66%) of net-metered electricity sold to the government by June 2023 came from domestic users. Experts predict a further increase in solar power’s contribution to Pakistan’s total energy production by June 2024.
