In a groundbreaking move, the Capital Development Authority (CDA) has unveiled plans to introduce bus services for the first time in the sectors of Islamabad. This decision, made by the CDA administration under the federal government, marks a significant milestone in enhancing public transportation infrastructure in the capital city.
The CDA has meticulously selected 13 routes that will intricately connect the key centers of Islamabad sectors through the implementation of the Orange, Blue, and Green Lines. This strategic initiative is set to streamline commuting within the city and cater to the growing transportation needs of its residents.
To execute this ambitious plan, the CDA has entered into a partnership with the Ministry of Defense’s subsidiary agency, Transport Industry Pakistan. This collaboration aims to bring efficient and reliable public transport services to Islamabad’s sectors, contributing to a more sustainable and accessible urban environment.
In an effort to embrace eco-friendly transportation, the CDA has procured 160 electric vehicles for the selected routes. These electric vehicles, sourced from China, signify a commitment to cleaner and greener mobility solutions. The initial phase of this transformative project will witness the arrival of 30 electric vehicles by the end of December.
The introduction of these bus services poised to not only alleviate traffic congestion and enhance connectivity but also promote a more environmentally conscious approach to public transportation. As the capital gears up for this revolutionary change, residents can look forward to a more efficient and sustainable commuting experience in the sectors of Islamabad.
