In a bid to promote renewable energy, the Punjab government’s Roshan Gharana program is set to illuminate 50,000 homes with solar panels. The Department of Energy has put forth a proposal where consumers contribute 25% of the solar panel cost, while the government and commercial financing cover the remaining 75%.
