Sasta Bazaar Fire in Sector H-9 Islamabad has damaged over 100 stalls on Wednesday. Firefighters are engaged to extinguish the fire.
It is feared that the Sasta Bazaar fire will not be overcome easily as the market contains garments and other goods that catches fire easily.
Over 20 fire tenders are busy in dousing the flames of Sasta Bazaar fire. Capital Development Authority (CDA), Bahria Town and Rescue 1122 are also engaged in rescue operation.
Meanwhile, the National Disaster Management Authority has said that Pakistan Navy’s water tankers and dousers are also requested on the request of additional DG Islamabad.
Police officials are also present at the site of the Sasta Bazaar fire incident.
Police officials also said while commenting on the incident “As per initial reports, the fire was caused by a short circuit in a UPS.”
Further investigations on Sasta Bazaar fire are under way, the official added.
The incident site, situated in Sector H-9 near Peshawar Mor, is frequented by scores of residents as it hosts the weekly budget markets.
Last year in August, over 1,000 shops were gutted in a fire in the bazaar.
