Islamabad: The Supreme Court (SC) announced the contempt of court case verdict. Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N) leader Tallal Chaudry found guilty in the case.
The Supreme Court revealed that Tallal Chaudry is guilty in contempt of court case. However, he violated the Article 204 of Constitution. Earlier, the Apex Court ordered to make sure his presence during Thursday’s (today) proceedings. However, proccedings were based on the suo motu notice for his remarks against judiciary during a rally in Jaranwala.
Today, Tallal Chaudry appeared with his counsel Kamran Murtaza in court. Justice Qazi Faez Isa and Justice Gulzar Ahmed were in the bench. Justice Gulzar Ahmed announced the verdict and sentenced him till the rising of court. The court also fined him Rs0.1 Million.
Tallal Chaudry lost the Faisalabad constituency during Pakistan Election 2018. However, after the conviction, he will be disqualified for 5 years from holding public office. The Supreme Court reserved the case’s verdict till July 11.
