SC issued Show Cause Notice to Aamir Liaquat in Contempt of Court Case


Islamabad: Supreme Court of Pakistan issued show cause notice to Aamir Liaquat for doing contempt of court.

CJP Saqib Nisar issued show cause notice to Aamir Liaquat for contempt of court. He also remarked that such people should not be in Parliament. CJP was leading the three member bench against the TV anchor who won Pakistan Election 2018 from NA-245 Karachi. However, Saqib Nisar ordered to suspend Aamir Liaquat’s victory notification from this constituency.

A private TV channel filed petition against Aamir Liaquat for putting false and baseless allegations on its TV anchors. The channel’s counsel Faisal Iqbal elaborated the court that Aamir accused Shahzaib Khanzada for supporting people involved in blasphemy. In addition, he also put serious allegations on Najam Sethi.

A video clip was played about Aaamir Liaquat’s remarks in the Supreme Court. However, CJP Saqib Nisar inquired him about the use of insulting words. Aamir elaborated that he used these words for Ajeet Duval and Narendra Modi. In reply, Saqib Nisar told him that he is again lying in the court.

CJP Saqib Nisar remarked that a person who does not even know which language should be use at public forum can address in parliament. CJP then issue the contempt of court show cause notice to him and gave 14 days to submit the written reply.
