Islamabad: The Supreme Court of Pakistan today ordered to remove the name of Ishaq Dar as the chairman of board of governors of University of Health Sciences (UHS) Lahore.
CJP Saqib Nisar ordered the removal of Ishaq Dar as chairman of UHS board of governors. However, he heard a suo motu case of the administrative crisis in UHS.
Saqib Nisar said that the Punjab government should appoint the new chairman of UHS board of governors within three days. He remarked that as per rules, the meeting of UHS board of governors should be held after every 2 years.
CJP Saqib Nisar said that Ishaq Dar ran away from the country and the court also issued red warrants after declaring him as absconding. He further added that the university’s board is not functioning during the chairman’s absence.
The Supreme Court also asked reply from all stakeholders including the Interior Ministry in this regard.
