Schools & Offices Closed: Rawalpindi Declares 2-Day Holiday for 23rd March Parade

Rawalpindi, the vibrant garrison city, is all set to commemorate Pakistan Day with a two-day holiday on March 21 and 22. The announcement comes from the district administration, marking the city and cantonment areas as zones of celebration for the upcoming Pakistan Day Parade.

The Deputy Commissioner of Rawalpindi has issued a notification stating that the decision was made following a recommendation from the district intelligence committee. As a result, all public and private educational institutions, along with offices, will observe a shutdown during these days.

However, the Deputy Commissioner has made it clear that this holiday notification will not interfere with the ninth-grade examinations of the Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education, Rawalpindi.

This year’s Pakistan Day will witness a spectacular joint military parade by the Pakistani army and allied forces. The annual event, held in the capital, will see participation from several foreign armies, including the Chinese armed forces.

In the past, military contingents from various nations, including Riyadh, have graced the parade. The Ministry of Defence initiated preparations for the Pakistan Day parade last month, soliciting lists of invitees. The event is expected to draw a crowd of high-ranking government and military officials, as well as international dignitaries.
