The Sindh Home Department on Tuesday reimposed Section 144 Sindh across the province, banning all public gatherings, rallies, and processions for one month starting November 12, 2025. The order came after increasing political activity and security alerts following the Islamabad blast.
Section 144 in Karachi and Other Districts
The notification prohibits the gathering of more than five individuals in Karachi and in all other districts of Sindh under Section 144. Anyone who violates the order will be immediately dealt with by law enforcement agencies. Home Department has instructed Commissioners, DIGs, SSPs and deputized Commissioners to ensure that they enforce the restrictions.
Legal Action Under Section 144 Punishment
Officials confirmed that anyone caught violating will face Section 144 punishment under Section 188 of the Pakistan Penal Code. This includes arrest and legal proceedings for disobeying a government order. The DG Rangers Sindh, Chief Secretary, and Principal Secretaries to the Chief Minister and Governor have received copies of the directive for strict implementation.
Reason Behind Section 144 Sindh Extension
Authorities said the move aims to maintain law and order amid rising protests and political gatherings in the province. The Section 144 Sindh order will remain effective till December 12, 2025, unless extended again.
The government urged citizens and political groups to avoid public demonstrations during this period to prevent legal consequences and maintain public safety.
