Imprisoned former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has been granted special permission to meet his family on Friday.
19 family members of Nawaz Sharif had submitted a request to meet him and his daughter Maryam Nawaz in Adiala jail. Both father daughter duo is serving imprisonment as found guilty in Avenfield Properties case.
Prisons IGP granted permission to Sharif family and has informed the jail superintendent in this regard.
Jail authorities have allocated Thursday for visitors, including Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leaders, wanting to meet Maryam and Nawaz Sharif.
Due to Eid holidays, nobody was permitted to meet Nawaz Sharif and his daughter on that day. Therefore, Sharif family had requested to meet the two on Friday.
Earlier on Wednesday, PML-N President Shehbaz Sharif and a few of his family members met Nawaz and Maryam in Adiala jail.
Shehbaz Sharif, Hamza Shehbaz and Nawaz Sharif’s mother met the two on the occasion of Eid-ul-Azha with special permission, sources said.
Nawaz Sharif and Maryam Nawaz are currently serving their prison terms at Adiala Jail in Rawalpindi. The former premier was sentenced to a total of 11 years in prison while his daughter Maryam Nawaz was sentenced to eight years for corruption in Avenfield reference case in July.
