Sharjeel Memon Report: No Alcohol Elements Found From Blood


Sharjeel Memon report reveals no sign of alcohol in blood samples.

Blood samples of Sharjeel Memon were sent to two big hospitals in Karachi on the order of Chief Justice of Pakistan Mian Saqib Nisar, after liquor bottles were found from his room in Ziauddin Hospital.

CJP Mian Saqib Nisar paid a surprise visit to Ziauddin hospital in Karachi on Saturday and found liquor bottles from there in Sharjeel Memon’s room.

At least three bottles of alcohol, drugs and cigarettes were recovered from Sharjeel Memon’s hospital room.

The CJP Saqib Nisar when found the bottles asked about the attorney general. When inquired, Sharjeel Memon denied the use of alcohol.

Media reports further said that there was no nurse or doctor in Sharjeel Memon’s room on the first floor of Ziauddin Hospital.

Following the incident, the CJP ordered to shift Sharjeel Memon back to jail and ordered his medical test.

Two persons were arrested after bottles of liquor were found from the room of Sharjeel Memon in Ziauddin Hospital. One of the arrested persons Muhammad Jam claims that these are bottles of honey and oil and NOT alcohol.

Meanwhile, PPP leader Nasir Hussain Shah also claimed that there was olive oil and honey in the bottles found in Sharjeel Memon’s room.

Investigation was ordered against PPP leader Sharjeel Memon. SSP South Umar Shahid took the CCTV footage for forensic investigation. He said that a legal action will be taken against the responsible after investigation.

According to the reports from Agha Khan Hospital, no element of alcohol was found in Sharjeel Memon’s body. The report has mentioned ‘Plasma Alcohol Not Detected’ in it, while other three tests related to alcohol were also declared normal in the reports.

The Sindh Government will now send these Sharjeel Memon report to the Supreme Court.

Sharjeel Memon was earlier shifted to hospital from jail due to his illness. Sharjeel Memon was sent on a judicial remand after being arrested in the Rs 5.76 billion corruption case in November 2017.
