ISLAMABAD: Chief Minister of Punjab, Shehbaz Sharif is presiding, for the first time, over a parliamentary meeting of the party.
CM Shehbaz Sharif is chairing his first ever parliamentary party meeting. The meeting comes after the federal cabinet meeting under PM Khaqan Abbasi. PM Abbasi is also part of the party parliamentary meeting under Shehbaz.
Shehbaz Sharif, who became the President of PML-N after the disqualification of Supreme Leader, his brother, Nawaz Sharif, from party presidency.
The disqualification came along with Nawaz Sharif being disqualified as the Prime Minister by the Supreme Court. The Supreme Court had disqualified Nawaz over hiding the salary received by him from his son’s company in the nomination papers. Nawaz Sharif, who was disqualified under the Article 62(1)(f), is disqualified from contesting elections for life.
After which the party presidency fell over to brother, Shehbaz, who was also the Chief Minister of Punjab.
