LAHORE: PML-N President Shehbaz Sharif rethinks party’s election strategy for Lahore after Zaeem Qadri’s defection.
President of Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz, Shehbaz Sharif called over a meeting for rethinking election strategy. The meeting was attended by senior party leaders along with Hamza Shehbaz.
Zaeem Qadri had on Thursday a press conference where he expressed displeasure on not being given party ticket to contest in upcoming elections from NA-133. Qadri, won a seat from the provincial assembly from PML-N ticket in the previous elections.
Qadri said Lahore is not the property of Hamza Shehbaz Or party president, Shehbaz. He also said he will not polish the shoes of Shehbaz over the ticket and announced contesting as an independent candidate in the upcoming elections on the 25th of July.
Qadri also alleged that only people who were obedient towards Hamza Shehbaz were given party tickets to contest elections.
After the PML-N president chaired the meeting for the electoral strategy, he was phoned by KP PML-N leader Amir Muqam. The party leaders informed Shehbaz on the situation of the election campaign in the province.
