In a move aimed at enhancing the pilgrimage experience, Punjab has recently introduced the ‘Sikh Yatra Booking Portal.’ This online platform enables pilgrims to seamlessly organize lodging, transportation, and security services well in advance of their visit.
Caretaker Punjab Chief Minister, Mohsin Naqvi, expressed the government’s commitment to providing top-notch hospitality and services to Sikh pilgrims. Speaking at the portal’s launch ceremony, he underscored the importance of dedicated efforts to promote religious tourism in the region. Naqvi also announced the establishment of a specialized tourism police force, anticipating its positive impact on the overall tourism landscape in Punjab.
During the ceremony, Dr. Mambal Singh, a member of the Parbandhak Committee, extended gratitude to the Chief Minister for inaugurating the “Sikh Yatra Booking Portal.” Singh highlighted the portal’s significance in simplifying travel arrangements for Sikhs who frequently visit Pakistan throughout the year.
The event brought together key dignitaries, including Provincial Minister Amir Mir, Chief Secretary, IG Police, Secretary Tourism, Secretary Information, Commissioner Lahore, CCPO, MD & GM TDCP, and various other officials. Their presence emphasized the collective effort to strengthen the connection between Sikh pilgrims and Pakistan.
With this initiative, Punjab aims to foster a more convenient and welcoming environment for Sikh visitors, acknowledging the deep-rooted connection and affection that Sikh pilgrims hold for the country. The newly launched portal is expected to streamline the pilgrimage process, contributing to the growth of religious tourism in the region.
