Sindh declares public holiday on September 7 for Chehlum of Hazrat Imam-e-Hussain (RA)

The Sindh caretaker government has announced a public holiday on September 7 in honor of the Chehlum of Hazrat Imam-e-Hussain (RA).

In a significant move, the Sindh Education Department has decided to suspend classes in both private and government schools on September 7. This thoughtful decision was made by the steering committee of the education department.

Across the nation, communities are preparing to hold solemn mourning processions in various cities and towns. These processions are a heartfelt tribute to the martyrs of Karbala.

The Chehlum observance holds great significance as it occurs 40 days after the Day of Ashura. This important occasion commemorates the martyrdom of Hazrat Imam Hussain (RA) and his 72 devoted companions who valiantly faced the Yazidi forces in the historic Battle of Karbala in 61 A.H.

This holiday not only allows people to pay their respects but also provides an opportunity for reflection and remembrance of the sacrifices made by Hazrat Imam Hussain (RA) and his companions in the name of justice and righteousness.
