Karachi: Sindh Food Authority (SFA) announced the ban on carbonated drinks in schools.
Sindh Food Authority imposed ban on carbonated drinks in schools. The sale of energy drinks and carbonated drinks at colleges and schools is now prohibited in Sindh.
Sindh Food Authority issued the official notification that coloured crackers will also not allowed in the educational institutions. Different substandard banaspati and cooking oil are also been banned.
According to the notification, the use of artificial colors in sweets and the sale of Chinese salt are also banned.
In the notification, Director Sindh Food Authority warned that the meat of new born calves and the sub standard spices are also banned.
The high use of carbonated drinks is related to several diseases including diabetes, obesity, heart disease, liver damage, etc.
