Sindh Information Minister Sharjeel Memon has shared some exciting news for Pakistan’s youth. He announced that 50,000 job opportunities are on the way, thanks to efforts to attract investments in various sectors.
Karachi to Get Medical City: 50,000 Jobs in Health Sector
Speaking to the media, Memon revealed that the Sindh Chief Minister has been actively engaging with investors. Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) are expected to be signed within a few days. One major highlight is a medical city being planned for Karachi, which will boost the health sector. Additionally, industries will be established in the Dhabeji Economic Zone, creating job opportunities for 50,000 people.
The provincial minister said that investor confidence in Pakistan is strong despite challenges. Investments are being directed towards agriculture, health, transport, and energy sectors. In the energy sector, foreign investors are particularly interested, with plans to expand the use of Thar coal, which produces some of the cheapest electricity.
Improving Transport Facilities
Sharjeel Memon emphasized improving transport facilities. He mentioned the Karachi Circular Railway as a priority and proposed setting up manufacturing plants for affordable buses in Karachi. This move is expected to generate jobs and improve local mobility. The minister also shared an ambitious vision for a bullet train from Karachi to Sukkur, making travel more affordable and convenient.
Initiatives for Differently-Abled Children
Memon highlighted initiatives for differently-abled children, with plans for dedicated quotas in schools. He also stressed enforcing laws to ensure vehicle fitness, aiming to reduce pollution and improve public health.
