Syed Nasir Hussain Shah, the Provincial Minister for Energy, Planning, and Development, has announced a groundbreaking initiative to bring electricity to the most remote and underprivileged areas of the province. This initiative, part of the vision of Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, aims to provide solar panels to these areas, ensuring that no family is left in the dark.
The PPP government, known for its practical approach rather than mere promises, has already set the wheels in motion. Shah shared these plans during a recent interaction with the media at the Sindh Assembly.
The project includes the construction of solar parks across Sindh. One such park near Karachi is expected to generate 50 MG of electricity, which will be supplied to Electric. This move is aimed at enhancing the convenience of unit users. In addition, residents of respective areas will receive electricity facilities through HESCO and SEPCO. The government is also exploring the potential of waste-to-energy conversion, with plans for implementation in the near future.
The upcoming budget is being prepared in line with Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari’s 10-point agenda. As part of this agenda, the public will receive 300 units of free electricity through the solarization process.
Shah expressed regret that the federation did not grant the mandate, otherwise, these steps would have been implemented for the benefit of the entire country. He also praised the police’s efforts in the Kacha area, where their proactive measures against dacoits saved hundreds of lives.
Shah urged the media to highlight the positive initiatives of the Sindh government and police. He emphasized the importance of security measures, such as the pickets placed by the caretaker government, and the questioning of outsiders about their purpose of visit.
