In anticipation of the holy month of Ramadan, set to commence on March 12, the Sindh government has unveiled a revised schedule for its offices. The new timings, announced on Friday, apply to all government offices, autonomous and semi-autonomous bodies, corporations, and local councils under the Sindh government’s jurisdiction, except essential services.
Ramadan Office Hours in Karachi 2024
The revised office hours will be in effect throughout Ramadan. Offices operating five days a week will function from 10 am to 4 pm from Monday to Thursday, and from 10 am to 1 pm on Friday. For offices operating six days a week, the timings will be from 10 am to 3 pm from Monday to Thursday and Saturday, and from 10 am to 1 pm on Friday.
Moon Sighting in Pakistan and Ramadan Commencement
Pakistan is gearing up for the upcoming month of Ramadan. According to weather expert Jawad Memon, the moon marking the start of Ramadan will be born on March 10 but will only be visible to the naked eye by March 11. He predicts a 95% probability that the first fast will be observed on March 12.
As per tradition, the Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee will convene in Islamabad to receive and assess moon sighting reports and announce the commencement of the holy month.
Observing Ramadan in Pakistan 2024
Ramadan, a month of religious devotion and zeal, will see millions of Pakistanis and billions of Muslims worldwide observing fasts from dawn till sunset. The duration of the fasts will range from 12 to 17 hours, depending on geographical locations across the globe.
