Sindh Govt to proceed legally in Dua Zehras Case

Shehla Raza, a member of the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) announced Sindh government to fight a legal battle for Dua Zehra. On Friday, Duas family held a protest at Karachi Press Club after she was shifted to Lahore. A sizeable number of families including children and women were present in the protest that happened on Friday (yesterday). The protest was organized by civil society that demanded Dua to be handed over to her parents.

Shehla Raza who was previously involved in the case assured the protestors of full cooperation. She said, The provincial government will now fight the case of Dua Zehra and will immediately file an appeal,. After successful negotiations, the protests were ended.

Previously, Sindh High Court (SHC) in its verdict found no substantial evidence regarding the abduction. However, SHC asked Dua to decide whether she wants to go with her parents or husband. However, the medical examination revealed Duas age between 16 to 17-year-old.

In a video circulating on social media, Duas father. Syed Mehdi Ali Kazmi said of being blatantly refused for not letting their daughter meet. They managed to meet Dua for around 3 to 4 minutes when Dua conveyed a message of going home with her parents. However, she was disrupted by police and her parents proceeded further to record Duas statement but the courts timings were closed for the day.
