Sindh govt to release budget in cabinet today

Sindh government to propose a budget of Rs 1.6 trillion for the financial year of 2022-23. Syed Murad Ali Shah, Sindh Chief Minister will hand over the budget in the assembly today (Tuesday).

Officials say the budget for the current fiscal year is Rs1.5 trillion, but the province administration has decided to increase the outlay by Rs100 billion. The budget will be propose in the Cabinet. The government has granted Rs 128 billion allocated for law and order, Rs 4 billion for Peoples Bus Service Project, and Rs 8 billion for the hybrid electronic buses. 

The government plans to propose 3,500 employees along with 1,400 teachers to teach music and arts in government schools for the next budget round. As per the budget, the government has also decided to establish a science museum with an allocation of Rs150 million.

The school expenditure has been raised to Rs228 billion, however, the development budget remains unchanged. The school has around Rs14 billion for the development budget. Other than an expenditure of university has been raised to Rs8 billion. The health budget has been proposed at Rs20 billion.
