Sindh Ramzan Package: Rs 5,000 Cash Assistance for Monthly Earners Up To Rs 32,000

In a recent announcement, Sindh’s Chief Minister, Syed Murad Ali Shah, unveiled a substantial Ramzan package. Valued at Rs22bn, the initiative aims to provide significant relief to the province’s residents. The package received approval during a meeting focused on price control.

A key feature of the package is a cash provision of Rs5000, set to benefit 60% of the province’s population earning a minimum wage. This translates to financial aid for approximately 3.5 million households, each earning a minimum monthly wage of Rs32,000. Additionally, the Sindh Zakat Department will contribute Rs14,000 to 1,10,000 underprivileged families.

During the meeting, the Chief Minister emphasized the need for stringent measures against hoarding and profiteering activities within the province. He urged the district administration to enforce government-regulated commodity prices effectively.

In a move to ensure uninterrupted power supply during the holy month, Murad Ali Shah instructed that there should be no load shedding during Sehr and Iftar across the province. He further directed K-Electric, Hyderabad Electric Supply Company (HESCO), and Sukkur Electric Supply Company (SEPCO) to maintain a stable electricity supply in their respective areas throughout Ramadan.
