KARACHI: Sindh Rangers recovered 5000kg Indian gutka from Mauripur Road in Karachi city.
The Indian gutka was recovered from Mauripur road and weighs more than 5.5 tonnes. It was brought to Pakistan from India via Afghanistan.
Rangers Official have said that the substance that was seized in Karachi is worth Rs6 to Rs6.5 million. Rangers official told that it has been handed over to custom officials.
Recently crackdown on sellers and manufacturers of the substance has been ongoing throughout the country with raids conducted by police and rangers in different cities. It has been declared illegal and sale and purchase of the substance is a crime.
Law enforcement authorities conducted search operation and arrested around 25 suspects last year for dealing in gutka. A manufacturer was also arrested and a machine was seized by the authorities as well.
