In response to escalating anti-inflation protests, the AJK administration has declared a public holiday on May 13. This unexpected closure affects both government establishments and educational institutions in Muzaffarabad.
The Joint Action Committee of Azad Kashmir has called for a wheel jam and shutter-down strike, leading to the suspension of all district government operations in Muzaffarabad, the heart of Azad Kashmir, on the said date.
The strike’s impact extends beyond the government sector. Anticipating travel difficulties for staff amidst the wheel jam strike, the decision to halt operations has been taken.
In line with this, educational institutions are also bracing for the strike. All public and private schools, universities, and colleges in Muzaffarabad will remain non-operational on May 13.
