The Higher Education Department of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) has officially announced the summer vacation schedule for universities and colleges in the region.
According to the latest notification, universities and colleges in the plain areas of KP will remain closed from June 15th to August 31st. Meanwhile, institutions located in the hilly areas will observe their summer break from July 1st to July 31st. This directive is applicable to all public and private universities and colleges within the province.
This announcement follows the earlier declaration by the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Education Department regarding summer vacations for schools across the province. Primary schools will close from June 1st, while middle, high, and higher secondary schools will shut down from June 15th to August 31st. Schools in the upper districts will be on break from July 1st to August 31st.
In a similar move, the Sindh Education Department has also declared summer holidays for all public and private schools and colleges in the province. According to their notification, these institutions will be closed from June 1st to July 31st.
It is important to note that this year’s summer vacation schedules are influenced by the severe heatwave affecting Pakistan. The Ministry of Climate Change reported that 26 districts across the country are experiencing extreme temperatures, with some areas expecting highs of up to 50 degrees Celsius (122 degrees Fahrenheit). This intense heatwave has already caused delays in the annual school exams in Sindh.
