Supreme Court Issued Orders to Decide NICL Corruption Case in 10 Days


LAHORE: Supreme Court has issued orders for Accountability Court to decide the NICL mega land scam reference within 10 days.

Supreme Court has given orders to Accountability Courts of Karachi and Lahore to give verdict on case in 10 days. The case pertains to embezzlement done by former NICL chairperson Ayaz Khan Niazi, Mohsin Habib Warraich, commerce minister of that time (late) Makhdoom Amin Fahim and others in the purchase of official land.

The hearing of the case at the Supreme Court Lahore Registry resumed today. A special bench led by CJP Saqib Nisar ordered accountability courts of Lahore and Karachi to give verdict in all four references of case within 10 days.

CJP Saqib Nisar also ordered that Mohsin Habib Warraich, one of the central figures in the scam, be arrested and presented. The Court also summoned records of all the cases that are pending in the accountability courts of Karachi and Lahore.

CJP Saqib Nisar expressed extreme disappointment and remarked that it appeared the NAB was being lenient in the case, it will not be permitted.

Ayaz Khan Niazi, former Chairperson NICL, was arrested earlier this month on orders of the Supreme Court.
